Debbi Wallings: Conveyancing Manager
I began my career in the legal conveyancing field over 25 years ago. I worked in the East End of London for 10 years before moving to a law firm in Essex. For the last 15 years, I have worked as the Conveyancing Manager at Hook & Partners Solicitors in Canvey Island which, we are very proud to say, has been accredited with the Law Society’s ‘Conveyancing Quality Scheme’ (CQS) standard.
Within the local conveyancing world, I am well established and pride myself on receiving constant recommendations from previous clients, as well as members of their families and friends. I have worked closely with a large number of local Estate Agents across many years to develop an excellent working relationship with them.
Conveyancing at Hook & Partners Solicitors
When I first started at Hook & Partners, I worked with an assistant to deal with all conveyancing transactions within the company. Five years ago, I was joined by my colleague Stephen Cottrell. Together, we have now built an extremely successful and efficient conveyancing department assisted by our team; Lauren, Faye and Jamie.
The most important aspect of the role, for me, is to focus on providing all clients with a good experience when buying a property. Moving house is often a stressful life event and, as buying a house is likely to be the most expensive purchase you will make, it’s important to be informed every step of the way.
Likewise, I understand the value and importance of being available to talk through the matter and answer any questions our clients may have at any stage of their transaction. I provide the best service I can by making myself available to see my clients (sometimes even without appointments) and ensure the transaction is as stress-free as possible.
Conveyancing can often be demanding, especially when working under extreme pressure to meet tight deadlines. But, even after 15 years, I still get a buzz out of achieving the seemingly impossible.
Our greatest strength within the conveyancing team (and across the firm) is our ability to work closely with other professionals, to build relationships and help all parties involved in a transaction to achieve their desired result.
